Just a quick question I do a lot of contract law etc but when it comes to speeding fines and civil law in general i have a limited knowledge so anyway the question is if someone used my number plates and broke the law and I received a letter stating that my vehicle was caught speeding by a (undercover) speeding van parked…

Just a quick question I do a lot of contract law etc but when it comes to speeding fines and civil law in general i have a limited knowledge so anyway the question is if someone used my number plates and broke the law and I received a letter stating that my vehicle was caught speeding by a (undercover) speeding van parked on the side of a road. What are my options ? Can I write a letter stating that my vehicle was not used by someone else and I was the only user of this vehicle but I strongly disagree driving the vehicle at the time, place stated on the letter therefore I suspect that some other party has used my number plates and broke the law.

What are my options should I wait for a court date because I strongly disagree what has been stated in the letter and refuse to pay the fine and receive penalty points accordingly
