    Hi Guys,

Im in the process of getting broadband setup, unfortunately we will need some poles erected by eircom to connect us to the network.

Do eircom share poles with the ESB and is it possible to send the eircom cables over the esb poles

    Thanks for your help :)

    Hi theduffer

If your house is newly built or never had a phone line before a full installation would be required at your address. Once you have placed an order our engineer will call out and do what's called a site survey. Once this is completed they will then inform you of the work that needs to be carried out. This can take between 5-10 working days.

Currently we have a promotion running where it’s free of charge for a phone line to be installed. Once the line is installed there is a line rental fee of €25.78 per month along with a 12 month contract. However eircom do have bundle packages for both line and broadband which can be viewed on our website here

    Regards
    Linda

    Hi theduffer
I have never heard of this and think it is unlikely. The electric current would probably have a negative effect on the phone line.

Does this 'free' include all necessary work to make the connection? ....... including erection of poles if required, or digging routes for underground cables if that is the method ...

Thanks for clarification on this point.

Including poles and up to a cost of €7000 ( up to around 8 poles or so before you pay extras) you should duct to the road anyway, everyone should. User water mains pipe with a string in it.
