    I been using this for years now and first time today I found out by accident
    pressing 0 will clear the text on screen to allow to watch the TV picture and then press 0 will bring back the text again, very fast and very handy for me now.
    I am not sure if others knew of this feature on BBC...

    There is a message at the bottom of the screen telling you that you can do so!

    I must get new pair of glasses. I never notice it on the bottom left as I read just the main news on the right side
