    It's nearly Friday and it's been far too long ... days, maybe even weeks ... since we've had a decent helmet "debate". But we live in hope.

    While waiting for someone to light the touchpaper, you could do worse than make a cuppa and have a stroll around these two weird and wonderful sites.

    Learn about Milton Wood Raymond, the MIT Engineering graduate with a thesis in machine gun design who went on to prototype a backwards facing recumbent. Brian Campbell's Housebike is an epic piece of bicycle(-ish) engineering. And the Bicycle Museum of Bad Ideas documents some truly interesting pieces of equipment.

    Put the kettle on again before admiring the superb photographs of Stan Engelbrecht & Nic Grobler.
