    hey
Just wondering guys I have been out of work for 3 years but recently returned to college, I am searching for a part time job to help pay the bills. When doing my cv out I have no current referees and don't know what to do as I feel it has been to long to go back to someone I worked for 3 or 4 years ago and for all I know they may not be in that job anymore. Please help any advice appreciated

Search linked in for old managers or colleagues who can give you a reference. Also ask your lecturers to act as referees.

    I agree with this.

Another option may be a family friend who is a solicitor or doctor or some other trusted professional who can vouch for you.

Would you not just call in to your old workplace, and find out if the person is still there, and if they'd be willing to provide a reference?

Even if it's all new people there, they're bound to have something on file for you. If you have the previous employment down on your CV, questions may be asked if you don't provide a reference from them.
