    Hi,

I haven't a clue about golfing so here I am to ask for help. I'm looking at a set of Wilson 2012 golf set for €180 euro on adverts for the boyfriend. Would be his first set. Brand new. Can anyone help me over what to do- ideally my limit is €200 euro- would these be a good buy

I know there's a gifts forum but thought I'd get a better response here. :)

    Hey, welcome!

Where are you looking to buy from?
Is it his first set of new clubs or first set of clubs ever? I'd probably advise go second hand for value for money, but since it's a present it's hard to say.
Does he know you are buying them?

Just a slight one, probably because I'm pretty anal about things. I think he'll be chuffed with getting a nice surprise like this, but if it was me, I'd rather if my missus came up to me & said she was taking me out shopping for golf clubs & let me select the clubs myself.

I'd like to test them out myself before committing. But then again I'm a picky ba$tard :o Plus it'll mean he could even settle on a second hand set that'll be more clubs for your money, and you won't have to feel guilty for buying second hand rather than new because he'll have chosen them himself

In reality though, club technology is always getting better, so any starter set will get him going.

Fair play to you, you do realise that you may starting yourself on the road to golf widowdom don't you???
