Hi all, some advice needed please.
My 15 year old daughter wants to go home to wales after christmas for a week with her nana but i cant take the time off to go with her so i was going to send her on her own, the ferry company says it will not accept children under 16 to travel alone.
Do you think it would be a bad idea to just book her on as an adult (16 and over) and try and wing it?? I'll be dropping her at dublin and then my mum will be waiting for her in holyhead and its a swift ferry so she'll be about 1hr 40mins ish on her own. Do they do passport checks anywhere??
I'll obviously stay in the port at dublin to make sure shes boarded, i know it sounds really stingy but if i had to travel with her it would mean a 250 euro fare compared to 75 quid return fare for her on her own? what do you think? is it really risky or shall we go for it?? :(

They don't check for passport so you will be ok. She will be very safe on the ferry as its full of people. At 15 she is old enough to look after herself for 2-3 hours:)
