    Good price performance wise!

    From teh internet:

"If compared to Intels Core-i3-series, the A8-4500M offers less performance in most cases. Nonetheless, CPU performance from the AMD processor should be sufficient for all daily workloads like Office, Internet browsing and even light video editing or gaming."

"On average, the performance of the HD 7640G GPU is comparable to a dedicated Radeon HD 7610M and is even faster than the HD Graphics 4000 as found in Intel’s Ivy Bridge."

IF you don't need sleek and portable machine, this is good choice.

Depends on what gen of i3 he is talking about if its the first or second generation then the apu would be faster.

And 3rd gen Core i3 is faster in what?

In this price range it comes down to other laptop features deciding whether you buy an Core i3 or AMD A8.

I would buy tomorrow such A8 setup if found in 14" body with backlit keyboard.

AMD was lagging behind Intel for few years performance wise (was always cheaper anyway) but now it's even at consumers level. Fantastic integrated graphics for silly money and that's what is this about - every body wants to run smoothly HD videos and Angry birds.

I think because of the good graphics for the price range compared to the intel I would go for the Amd.
