    This baffled me too until I found this page.

    Basically this was created the artist around 1992 after suggesting the idea to Ron Dennis who "gave him the car". Clearly he didn't actually give him a car, just spare bodywork.

    So, no McLaren's were harmed in the making of this sculpture!

    I have to say I quite like it. Clever idea really. Perhaps not as good MoMA's (in NY) use of an F1 car as art - they literally have a Prost Ferrari bolted to the wall.

    the All Sports Cafe that used to be in Temple Bar had a Gerhard Berger Benetton bolted to the ceiling.
