Peugeot 406 smokey

    I have a 02 406 and when ticks over idle no problem but when i rev it wont go past 2000 revs and the smoke that comes out is thick black, so bad it stains the ground near the exhaust.

    When I disconnected a pipe on the turbo it revs away fine and the smoke problem is gone but then I have no brakes.

    Anyone any idea what the problem might be.

    Sounds like the EGR, same with my one, was smokey and down on power. Disconnected the vaccum hose from the solenoid, power restored :)

    If Row is about, he might be also able to shed light on the situation :)

    Thanks Guys :) can this be cleaned or repaired or do i need a new one and how much money are we talking about and how hard a job is it
