    Hi all,
in the process of cleaning off glue off carbon tubs and wondering about the glue that is on the tub tyres as it stands.
Is it ok to apply another coat of conti carbon glue to the tyre and then reattach to rim?
    thanks

I glued used tubs. Pretty sure they had old glue on em. I bought em second hand for CX.

What could possibly go wrong ....

Seriously though, provided the existing coating is properly stuck to the tire it should be fine - the new coat is likely to adhere better to the glue that's already there

If the glue is peeling off though you woulld be better trying to clean it off first

    What Beasty said.^^^^

There is two very conflicting views on this, some say it's very important to clean all the glue off rim and tub and some say you should never remove the old glue just rough it up a bit with sandpaper, I like and use the later one but at the end of the day cx tubs roll off rims much easier than road tubs no matter what you do

Edit: The OP never mentioned cx, it was that Raam fella, always throwing a spanner in the works ;)

Conti carbon-specific glue does not mix well with dried Vittoria rim cement. I threw out my Conti carbon-specific stuff as I couldn't trust it.
