What value forestry land

    I'm trying to but some land and most of it is not good land, does any one have an idea what price is land suitable for planting going

    Coillte were paying around €2200 per acre a year or two back but I think they have stopped buying now. I manage to buy 39 acres of Forestry type land this year for €1000 and acre. Ive been using it for rough grazing since and it aint half bad now that its been grazed down a bit.

    If we get another fcukin year like this one half of rural Ireland will be for planting.......

    Depends where it is though, NHA area? Access? Soil type etc.

    If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.

    I hear ya, soil type would be mixed. It's not NHA the reason i want it is because it's mixed in with parcels of our own land. But I'm not going to pay silly money for it.
