Internship to Casual worker - money missing

I recently finished a job bridge internship and got some part time work from it. While on jobbridge my social welfare money was coming into my bank account. The week after I finished the internship I had no work. The €188 came into my bank account that week and I was told that the week after (this week) Id collect it in the post office.

There was nothing at the post office yesterday. I was dropping my first casual worker slip into SW and asked them what the story was. They said since casual workers were paid a week in arrears Id get my first cheque next week.

So the last social welfare money I got was on November 15 and I wont be getting any again til the 27th. Is this right or is there a problem here?

Casual workers get paid by cheque which issues from Dublin on Fridays. If you were fully unemployed the payment that would be in the post office this week, will issue on Friday.

Casual workers are paid a week in arrears. You dont say when you actually finished jobbridge and started casual work. So assuming you got last jobbridge payment on nov 15th and started casual work straight away then 27th nov sounds correct to receive a cheque. BTW great news to hear jobbridge host companys are keeping people on.
