Saw this page, and got me thinking about my prep room, would be a great addition. Went googling and found this http://www.donedeal.ie/for-sale/tools/2386659

anyone reckon the 25 euro one would be any good ? Ive hit my budget for hunting gear this year, so gotta keep it cheap :-)

I'd say the €25one is a manual winch( its the second picture from the left).
If that is what you would be satisfied with, it will be fine.I have similar on my boat trailer and it will winch a 600kg boat and a 200kg engine, no problem.
The only problem you will probably have will be that it will need to be permenantly fixed to something but looking at your coolroom that would be no problem to ya..
Why don't you give the guy a ring and have a look at one, he's down your neck of the woods.

cheers, didnt notice the mechanicalvbit. might hold off and see if i can get hold of an electric one in the longer term (once the heat has died down with the wife and i can spend a few more quid without the guilt:-) )

im not living in wexford, just hail from there, living in east cork the last ten years. eastcorkman just doesnt have the same ring to it, and may as well hang on to some roots :-)

Couldn't find any in their stores. Must be sold out. Who got them off this forum?

I stopped in 2 stores in Cork on Thursday and no sign of them, I would not have thought they would have sold out to quickly.

You can get these, mechanical winch, from any good farm and/or auto shop at €25. Got myself one yesterday, @€;20, to fix a small winch to lift the deer into the back of the van and lift to do the grolloch.

Son got one of these last year to haul engines out of the car.. Does the job well enough. He fixed it to an RSJ bolted to the rafters in the garage.
