Went to the 2012 Classic Car and Motorbike show the past weekend at the NEC in Birmingham (would be rude not to attend as I am now living across the pond). Was well worth going was there for about 5 hours and still didnt have time to look in depth at all the stands and cars on display.

Everything from classic air cooled beetles to an Enzo Ferrari was on display here are a few photos for anyone who is thinking of going next year.

If anyone is restoring a vehicle it is definitely worth a visit, parts suppliers, auto jumble and a restoration section was on site with displays of how car panels are fabricated by hand.

By far and away the most interesting owners stand at the show was the Rolls Royce and Bentley owners club. Would never have imagined considering the perception people have of Rolls Royce and Bentley owners. In their club house they have a full size rolls with sections of the panel skin removed so that owners could understand the principal of operation of the different systems in the car (e.g. hydrolastic suspension, braking, electrics etc). Still cant get over the size of the disks on the car!

Bentley 6.0 W12 engine, havent a clue how someone can perform maintenance due to the sheer lack of space in the engine bay.

Thanks for the pictures, you even caught a shot of me standing in the grey shirt looking at the red 944 behind the RS500!!! I guess it must be about my 8th year in a row to travel over and I thought this year was excellent. Its amazing just how many Irish people now attend!:)

I've been at this once or twice - every enthusiast should visit at least once.

The sheer size of the exhibition and the quality and condition of cars on show is like nothing you will ever find here. You need two days to see it properly.

Handy to get to too. ;)

I was surprised at how many Irish accents I could hear as I was making my way around. There was a few Irish cars there also, the Jag 240, Ford Sierra cosworth are but a few...
