    Hi,

First of all I cannot speak any polish so forgive me. I am taking a trip to Warsaw in a few weeks time and am just asking for some tips from a natives point of view.

I want to avoid some of the worst touristy stuff and do some christmas shopping also. I might also get a polish simcard to avoid getting ripped off with roaming. Which is the best company to choose?

    Thanks

    Hi,

first of all, if you're flying to Okecie Airport avoid phoney taxis. They'll charge you 10 times more then normal fee. The best option to get to the city is to ask someone at the information desk to order a taxi for you or recommend one at the airport.
if you're flying one of the cheap flights to Modlin, take a train (only €3) to the city centre. by far, the cheapest, the fastest and the most comfortable option.

I havent been in the city centre in recent years but I'm sure there'll be plenty of sales and discounts in all major retailers. If you have time, you can use one of the shopping centres at the outskirts of Warsaw (like Janki or Marki, both offer free usses from city centre).

There's nice and relatively cheap hostel in city centre - OKi Doki Hostel (http://okidoki.pl/wp/lang/en) if you're stuck for acommodation.

And dont forget to do some sighseeing. Warsaw has lots of places to visit. Check this site to get the hit - http://warsawaudioguides.com/

    And have fun :)
