I do a bit of lamping with a friend once a week and the dog always gets a rabbit after a good day out!

I'd drop the intestines for the collie the odd time when I gut and skin them at home and he loves it. If you're thinking of putting the dog on a diet of rabbit meat it'll have to be supplemented a bit with other food because rabbit is not much more than just lean protein which is essential but not sufficient.

If you plan on feeding rabbit on a regular basis just skin it and leave the guts in as the contents will provide a lot vitamins and other nutrients the meat doesn't contain.

I gut them, skin them and chop them in half with a cleaver. Bag them and freeze them. My lab would get at least three halves a week as part of her diet and she is thriving. Raw by the way.

We do the same we have a Husky and a springer
i dont skin them take the guts out leave the heart lungs liver kidneys in, take the feet off and the head off, freeze it next day let if half thaw and give half each to the dogs, what ever dog gets the rump last time gets the other half next time

Our dogs love them after eating they are paned out all evening

That's all I feed my lurcher. He gets one and a half daily, I don't waste my time gutting them either

i find with giving them the guts the dogs are prone to tapeworm infection fairly common even with regular dosing

before i started feeding rabbits to mine i read up on it from a few places most say that if you buy rabbits from a fam its fine to give them whole, but if they are wild rabbits remove the intestines and freeze them to kill all parasites to be 100% sure of safe meat
