Problem after connecting Netgear Wireless router

I recently attached a Netgear wireless router to one of the old NTL cable modems (Scientific Atlanta), the wireless connects fine with an internet connection, I then re-added through the network page (winxp) a new connection and had internet on the connected pc too. But now everytime I restart the pc it loses internet but…

I recently attached a Netgear wireless router to one of the old NTL cable modems (Scientific Atlanta), the wireless connects fine with an internet connection, I then re-added through the network page (winxp) a new connection and had internet on the connected pc too.

But now everytime I restart the pc it loses internet but the wireless stays on fine.. Obviously its not a cabling issue as it works fine before the shut down, any one know what this could be?
