Villa (or similar) holiday for group of 10-15 people

    Folks,
A group of us are considering going on a holiday (within europe) this summer (possibly early June). There would be about 10-15 of us.

We really don't care where we go or what we do, but we're happy to avoid resort areas like Magaluf/Ayia Napa etc. (we're early-mid 20's) - we just want to be on a holiday together and have the craic.

The thought of a villa for the week came to mind. I dont care if it's France/Spain/Italy - however we'd like to go somewhere that we're not just stuck in the villa, but that we can hop into the cars and visit some cool small towns etc.

Budget is a priority (isin't it always?) - There won't be money to throw about but we're not looking for anything luxurious, just practical and clean.

I guess my question is: where the heck do I start looking? I guess first find a villa and then suitable flights (we'll most likely rent mini vans or similar so don't mind driving to a particular location)

    Any ideas?

For that number of people the price of the flights would be a big factor.

I would look at the airport that you can get the cheapest to from the most convenient airport.

Sometimes the airport that Ryanair fly into is fine for example Bergamo is a nice city and cheaper to stay in than Milan.

Gerona is another nice choice and also it is near Barcelona for a day trip etc...

I think some of the irish property sites i.e. daft.ie have villas to rent in them.

for villa's, the best website i think would be holidaylettings.co.uk. (reviews are powered by trip advisor) you could also check homeaway, another one of the top 3 in the uk. we do in ireland have holidayhomesdirect.ie, but for a larger selection of villas / apartments, have a look on the UK sites.

so decide on your destination and then search for your villa (or perhaps 2 apartments in same complex)
