Samsung Galaxy 3 - dropping signal after upgrade to 4.1.1

    Hi folks,

I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 running Android 4.1.1 on the ‘Three’ network.
After the recent upgrade to 4.1.1 my phone keeps dropping mobile data and needs a reboot to pick up the signal.

    For example:
I live in an area of poor mobile coverage, when I leave home and drive to an area of good coverage my voice/text works perfectly but I have no mobile internet. Once I restart the phone, my mobile internet kicks back in straight away.

It only seems to happen since the upgrade...I called ‘three’ but they haven’t been of any great assistance.

    Any thoughts?

It's a three issue. As far as I can tell, anyone with an S3 with three has been affected if they upgraded to 4.1. There is a three forum on boards with more details, but they assure us they are working on a fix and will have one within the next 2 weeks.

As a faster way to restore date, just flick it into airplane mode and back. Sometimes you have to do it twice, bit it's still faster than rebooting the phone!

Thank you very much - never thought of "Airplane mode" - nice tip

It's an issue going on over 4 weeks now. Complete disaster. The last formal update from Three was that a 'fix' would be deployed to us via a software update by Friday week at the latest. Join us here --> http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2056785062
