    At the below linked junction:
    http://goo.gl/maps/9fWtM

(It's local and I can't think of an equiv Irish one right now)

Where St Aubyn is the main road and Lawry and South road are side roads with South road having a yield and Lawry having a stop sign
    streetview Lawry: http://goo.gl/maps/EFh2m
    streetview South: http://goo.gl/maps/fmI15

Does the road with the yield always get priority over the road with the stop should a car be waiting at both to turn onto the main or is it equal priority first come first served?

To be honest I can't see how would this matter.
If there is any collision point on the main road, I assume it's the car which was first on the main road has right of way (as it's already on the main road).
Entrances to the main road from those 2 secondary roads (Lawry street and South rd) are quite far from each other, so there should be no doubt who was first on the main road.

I also have no clue about meaning of STOP and YIELD signs in there, but in Ireland I don't think they make any difference in priority. They both require you to yield to traffic already on the junction, while STOP additionally requires you to stop.

they are only the width of a driving lane and small island apart, no more than 5-6 metres
