You do realise there are at least some kind of minimum safety requirements that should lessen the amount of contaminated produce hitting the shelves, right?

You really don't have to worry about it, unless it's the last thing left to eat after the zombie apocalyspe. And who knows, you could end up with special powers out of it.

Do you guys have some sort of evidence to back this up or are you just against LIDL and ALDI because you're uninformed?

Fukushima fish are riddled with radioactive Caesium and the mutants that are being caught in the Gulf of Mexico (like clawless crabs and shrimps with no eyes as a result of Corexit toxins) are revolting. But are any of these abominations being packaged and winding up in Tesco?
If a crab of shrimp fisherman is catch sh!t that is useless to sell, are any of them just chopping up these poisonous things anyway and sending them to the canneries? Are the canneries just hosing them down and tinning them in brine and fobbing them off?

The fish in the Gulf are disgusting:

Is this crap getting into our shops?

    I hope not

You all owe me 6 quid (sick squid.....geddit?)

Jokes aside though, all that Corexit has dropped the sludge to the Gulf floor where lobsters, crabs and other shell fish hang out. I don't think I'd eat a single clam in Louisiana or Mississippi ever again. Seeing as everyone who helped to clean up after the Exxon Valdez is now dead and the BP cleaners are dropping like flies, I can't really go for a cajun crab cake.
