Saorsat and free sat on a humax

    Hi folks is it possible to fit 2 lnbs on a dish one pointing at freesat and the other at soarsat as was thinking of setting up a humax HDR 500gig that way. Is this possible to watch rte and all the other terrestrial stuff through the same box? Cheers.

    In theory yes but:

    1) Your receiver must have DiSEqC ability (google it) Note sure if this is your model:
    http://foxsat.wikispaces.com/Setting+up+DiSEqC

    2) Your dish must be solid (no holes in it)

    3) RTENL recommend an 80cm dish and in some areas a 1M dish

    4) One of the LNBs needs to be a special Saorsat type

    5) Recording may not be 100% reliable depending on what channels the receiver is left on

    6) Saorsat does not carry TV3 nor 3E and it may not carry future channels. The recommendation is to use Saorview and only if you cannot get Saorview then and only then should you consider Saorsat.

    Personally if you can get Saorview then wait a week or two for the new Saorview approved PVR to be launched and then check the reviews. This should work 100% reliably with series link and TV3 and 3E.

    i am on the same quest, i have asked the mods to put a sticky up where all such questions could be directed but no response from them yet, perhaps you could ask them as well and we might get a response
