I'm just wondering does alot of guys on here use adjustable stocks and combs for shotguns in the field and what make and models do ye use? Have people that bought these feel they improved there shot? Are these guns expensive to buy and is it easier sell them afterwards if needs be? I'm only asking this as I'm thinking of up grading next yr some time all depending on work and money and is there any good dealers here in Ireland i could view different make and models and possibly fire?
    All info appreciated.:)

Pat sludds down in wexford can fit adjustable combs to any gun, its cheap enough , less than €150, and is one solution to having a gun that doesn't fit you.

there are pros and cons to an adjustable comb. if its a field gun, your as well shoot at a pattern plate and get the gun fitted to you. (highly recommend pat sludds) its very tempting after a bad days shooting to get out your allen keys and start making adjustments. length of pull is just as important as comb height and cast. its nice to get your gun to fit perfectly and never worry about it again.

I was considering geting a sporter for myself that i have a good gun in the field and also have a good enough gun to do a days clay pigeon shooting the odd time. i was thinking if i did measure and get a gun ideally suited to me that down the road it would be harder to trade in for someone else to buy i might not get a decent price because it excludes maybe a majority of buyers were as an adjustable stock and comb would be easier to suite another owner if needs be.

yeah if theres a chance your gona sell the gun on at some point, it may sell quicker. i had 1 fitted by sludds. gr8 job! all i,l say is, get it set right using a p/plate and dont go near it after the first bad days shooting! its not the stock or the chokes or the wrong shells!!!
