The town is quiet during the week but fairly busy at weekends.plenty to do in the town, depends what you are in to.
No bad area around the town to live in and rent wouldnt be too expensive even if you have to take a place on your own.

Plenty to do on a sat night regarding nightlife, any other night your stuck with the cinema. Accom isn't too bad when you think you'll be starting?

House shares wouldn't be that common because Roscommon is generally a working and family town. Depending on where you come from you might find it quiet, but you have a good few pubs and drinking holes, you also have Flix cinema. Some people also go out in Carrick on Shannon at weekends, as there's a few more nightclubs there compared to Roscommon town.
Everyone's fairly friendly, and you'll meet a few people at work. Good luck with the job if you get it :)

Some great pubs, disco is dire but you couldn't fault the clientele. People are very friendly they call it the county of blowins around here - everyone is accepted. Like yabadabadoo says no bad areas in the town really. The only thing i don't like about roscommon is your 1.5 hours from the beach and I love the sea.

as the other fellas were saying saturday night is good craic but quite enough other nights. theres not a lot of young people around out side of the weekend cos theres no college here. As you probably know its a very small town so you will get to know people and people are friendly here,

Arrah what beach do you want. Belt out to Portrunny for a bit of skinny dipping. They say that December/January is particularly bracing!!!
A feed of curry chips after does the trick

Where's the best place to head out in Roscommon town? Are there many/any night clubs? Thanks in advance!

JJ's to start with, then onto Hollywood, and if your drunk enough hit Rockfords. That's a common flight plan for a few Rossies.
