    Hello,
I need to change the bulbs on my dashboard, as the light on temperature screen has gone.
The link above seems to go into great detail except I am worried about a few things. Firstly, it says to disconnect the battery. I dont want to do this as I will need to get stereo code etc again. Can the battery remain connected as long as engine switched off?

Second, it gets quite complicated when you need to re fit the dials i.e setting the rev counter and speedo. Are all these steps necessary also?

I changed one of the bulbs on my mk3 mondeo before, once the cluster is out you just change the bulb from the rear, twist fits bulbs,i never disconnected the battery,
anyway you can get the code here if you need it.
that guide is to replace the dial backround so dont worry about setting anything,
Its very easy(once the cluster is out):)

As above, no need to disconnect the battery.

You may as well change all the bulbs while you are at it. You will need four 3w capless bulbs for the main cluster background lighting and two 1.2w capless bulbs for the temperature and mileage displays.

Guys thanks, this is exactly what I am looking for...

Just to clarify, I wont need to reset the speedo or rev counter and I can leave the battery connected, right?

Might have a go at the weekend if that the case...
