Looking to get a new tv that will transmit both Saorview (RTE, TV3 etc) and the UK stations (BBC. C4 etc) through a rooftop aerial without the need for additional box or satellite dish. Is this possible. I live in the border area and was always able to receive the UK overspill through the aerial.

I live in Drogheda and can receive all saorview channels and a reasonable selection of the UK channels ...most of the BBCs, UTV, CH4' More 4, E4, Ch5 and a lot of BBC radio channels using a saorview approved tv and a chimney mounted aerial. So if you live near the border area, I would say you should be ok.

You're looking for a TV thats listed here:

    http://www.saorview.ie/equipment/saorview-approved-product-listings/

All of these will receive Saorview and Freeview. If you want to receive the HD channels on Freeview you will have to have a FreeviewHD rtuner built-in, rather than the bog standard Freeview one.
