    Hi,

I plan on picking up one of the radios that's on offer in Lidl at the minute. Thought I should start a thread instead of sticking it in the thread about the offers.

I just had a couple of questions for when I get it.

Is it essential to remove the negative battery terminal? I've head mixed things about this. Some people say do it and others don't bother. If it's essential, what's the reason?

Also the radio comes with an external microphone for the bluetooth calls. What's the neatest way you're meant to do this? Don't really fancy wires all over the place.

    Thanks

It is recommended that you disconnect the battery when doing any sort of electrical work on a car.
And for the mic, channel the wire through the dash and out from the top of the driver side A-pillar.

Do you know if your car has iso fittings on the stereo? If it dose the new one should be plug and play. You may also need to swap around the red and yellow wires on the stereo depending on your car. This is for the memory for the radio stations/clock etc on the head unit.

Regards the mic I would usually put it at the top of the a pillar, but this requires some trim to be removed to keep the wires hidden.

Hijacking this slightly, can anyone reccomend an auto electrician, in Dublin, to install a Dynavin unit in an E46 Coupé?
