I would like to express my deep sympathy to the husband, extended family and friends of Savita Halappanavar who died so tragically in Galway recently.
Whatever the reasons for her death I wish it had not taken place for at least another 50 years and that she had died in Ireland, in her own bed surrounded by her children and grandchildren, some of whom had Irish blood in their veins.
