    Hi all,

I recently had a metered water softener and drinking water filter installed. The company is offering a number of service plans. An example is €120 per year for annual functional service, full filter change & replacement drinking filter tap, free call outs inc parts & labour, 5 x bags of salt per year.

Are these type of service plans a good idea for the consumer or just a money making exercise from the company?

Do ya know what filters are in it? Makes a big difference to price.

You definite it's a full filter change or tested and change what's deemed needed

Sounds like a good deal. A bag of salt is about €8, so that's €40 worth before you start. Filters can cost a bit too so overall if you were happy with the service you have received from them already, I would probably go for it.

I install the occasional water softer and filter system. Not a hope could I come up with a deal like that.

Even it were the smaller bags of salt it still is a good deal.

The worst that can happen is they catch you for one service.
