Really enjoyed the last 2 days of racing. Anyone got the schedule for today?

I think these World cup events are good for track racing. They certainly seem to raise the profile and attract the top nations (if not always the top riders!!).

Thay are changing the qualification rules for the Rio Olympics, so it's the rider rather than nation that qualifies. That means riders will have to qualify themselves rather than allowing the "reserves" to do it for them

It's good news for the likes of Martyn Irvine and Caroline Ryan, who need to do all the work themselves already, but the danger (as Chris Hoy has already alluded to in today's TV coverage) is that the up and coming riders get even less opportunities. Basically there are 3 or 4 World Cup events, a European and a World Championships every year (plus a national championships). The "big guns" will typically turn up for a World Cup event and the World Championships, plus perhaps another event if it's not an Olympic (or perhaps Commonwealth Games) year. Some of these guys are sticking around through 3 or 4 Olympic cycles, and the younger riders need to be given their opportunities
