    Hey,

If I'm travelling from Dublin and changing flights in Dubai and Hong Kong before reaching asia, how does that effect the purcahse of Duty Free when leaving Ireland?

Say I wan't to buy a bottle of spirits or something, can I just take it as carry on and pass through the other two airports without any isses?

    J

Depends on if you go landside at any of the airports.

It could be a bit risky as if you have to go through security at any stage they will take the bottles.

You have to go through security in Dubai again regardless. Everyone has to. Don't know about Hong Kong, never been there. I think most airports now accept a sealed shopping bag from another airport as long as they can see the receipt inside. Dubai is mainly a transfer airport, rather than a destination so they must allow this. Best to check with the airline that you're flying with.

You could also wait till Hong Kong before you go to the duty free.

This would be the safest as your items would not be confiscated.
