Parkers.co.uk is telling me that this car will only get 34mpg.

This a bit on the low side for this car. What's it likely to get on the road ?

I'd imagine that would not be too far from the truth for a car that size and engine unless you drive it like a granny which would kind of defeat the purpose.

Interesting to note that the updated model built from Oct 2008 onwards gets 39mpg, which is a big difference compared to the previous model.

The figures quoted in Parkers is the combined manufacture figures, so you can normally expect less or in a few cases it might be right, but rarely more unless its all motorway driving.

    +1.

Never expect to equal or better the manufacturer's figures.

When buying used, always treat stated consumption figures (from salesman or owner) with a very large dose of salt.

When selling, obviously give high figures, because you want to sell....

Anyone know what the hell Audi did to the facelifted version to get a further 5mpg out of the same engine ? That's quite a stunning increase, allied to the fact that the engine is also putting out a small bit of extra bhp.

Anyone ever get a remap for extra mpg. Often heard it's possible to eek out a few more mpg and still keep the same bhp.

Slightly better aerodynamics and a remap maybe.

Had a feeling this may have been the case.

Would love to get real life numbers from anyone who owns one of these.
