am in the market for a new watch (first in 20 years) - spotted a nice Bering one in Michel Jewellers in Cork for E299

just wondering if anyone has any experience of them - or could offer cheaper alternatives, I'd like something fashionable, but won't date too much (but not a granny style either!)

i got 20 years out of the last watch, so I'd like to not have to go through choosing a watch again in 5 years!

It very much depends on what you're looking for!

Haven't heard of Bering - but I'm not an expert. Not bad looking watches tho

    www.beringtime.de

    Try:

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_0_3?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=watches&sprefix=wat%2Caps%2C247

    or

    http://www.watchshop.com/

What's your budget? Any important features you need?

Seiko are always a good bet......

I'd don't want a leather strap, but I don't want to end up with a metal strap that I may be allergic to, so none of those Oasis, Top shop quality stuff, a bangle or metal strap is fine.........I'm veering towards the inclinations of my inner magpie (ie sparkly) but don't want to end up with something that has missing stones off the face in 2 years! confused yet???

Pardon the direct question, but are you male or female?

A decent Seiko is always a good bet - they look well, and the experts (of which I am definitely not one) will always mention them.

Try Amazon -> Seiko and see what catches the magpies attention ;).....

slightly off topic, but what watch did you have for the past 20 years?
