Splitting the signal from a Chorus Sagem Set Top Box

Looking for a bit of help here guys. I'm trying to split the signal from this box to another tv and assumed that if I ran a cable from the RF output to the second tv that it would do the trick. A scart lead connects the set top box to the "first" tv.

Long story short I cannot find a signal when I try to tune in the second tv. Can you give me some advice please? I am not the most technically minded, so please explain any possible solution in the most basic terms.

    Thanks in advance,
    John

    Mmds or cable?
The rf out is only a loop through and you could get only analog channels with such a connection.
Some mmds transmitters doesn't carry analog channels anymore.

    maxg,
It is MMDS. Is there anything I could buy to solve this?
    Thanks again,
    John

Not really alot you can do, other than get multiroom. UPC digital is encrypted, so you need another box to decrypt it.

You could get a bog standard video sender, but you'd have to watch the same channel on both tv's.

Thanks Simi. To be honest, that's all I need (to be able to watch the same channel on the other tv). I have an old video recorder that still works but that I don't use. Can that act as a video sender? Forgive my ignorance but can you advise what I do need (cables, connections etc) in order to set this up? You won't offend me by explaining even the most basic instructions!!! I just want to get this sorted...
    Thanks again,
    John

Even analogue MMDS usually requires an STB.

But to answer the OPs question with most digital STBs the RF-out is only analogue pass-through. Most don't actually have an RF modulator. I'm not sure of the specs of the Chorus Sagem STB though.

As far as I know analogue MMDS is discontinued everywhere in the country.

Definately no RF modulator in those. Its just RF loop through.

Those ones have two SCART outputs (TV and VCR). If the second TV is not too far away (like on the other side of a wall you can pass a cable through) you could use a long SCART lead from the 'VCR' SCART output of the box to the second TV.

As for using the VCR, yes the Sagem box can be plugged into a VCR and the VCR's RF out can be used to bring the outputted signal via coaxial cable to wherever you wanted in a house.

You'd need a regular scart lead to plug sagem box into VCR also, then some length of RG6 (aka "satellite grade") cable and two belling-lee plugs to go on either end. There's guides for the fitting of these plugs on each end of cable on Youtube or elsewhere on the net.

I bought one of these today and it has done what I needed without the hassle of worrying about connections/cables etc. To be honest, I didn't even know such a thing existed until 2 days ago!

Thanks again for taking the time to offer me your advice. Most of it went over my head but I'm grateful anyway...
