Recently got our log burner up and running after alot of drama...plaster cracking behind it now which can happen, thinking of putting marble on the floor and behind it to stop further cracking , where wud b the best place to pick up nice but inexpensive marble ??? Or would normal tiles b ok behind it maybe make a feature out of it

    Hi Play Bunny,

Tiles for fire places have to be able to stand high temperatures so they would be special tiles with the right adhesive. If a tile shop cannot supply, a good stove shop should put you in the right direction.

Just remember they must extend to a minimum of 300mm in front of burner and have heat resistance of 100C.
