Hi, just wonder whether there are any places that I can do a retreat and pray during Christmas time for a few days? Any information would be welcomed. Million thanks!

Glenstal Abbey, perhaps? I like the idea of their God pods.

No harm in asking them if they have suggestions.

Try other monasteries such as Mellifont and Mount Mellary

You could try Glendalough, although given it's proximity to Dublin they may be booked out. Beautiful location if you manage it though.

    thanks guys.

i have tried St. Joseph Abbey suggested by Glenstal Abbey.
    Also, the Mount Melleray Abbey.

And also Drewstown. But no luck.

Scripture Union in Arklow can give me a place from 31st December. But no sure whether they have prayer time, mass/ service etc which I really want. I have already asked time and am waiting for their reply.

I have just texted Glendalough and will call Mellifont tomorrow.

Have you considered going abroad? I've been to some very enlightening retreats around Europe and all prices considered it works out to be the same as here.

yea, would love to, but not this time. do you have any good suggestion so i can do it next year?

got a reply from Glendalough and they have a place from 28th for three days. But was too busy at work that I did not have time to call them during working hours. Hopefully they can still give me a place when I ring them Monday.

I finally got a place from Benedictine Monks in County Down on 24th to 26th December, which is perfect for me. Praise the Lord. And thanks for all your kindly help.
