What Lamp?

    Hi,
I've decided to start getting into lamping and i have been looking at a few online. I'm just wondering if the 400m or 600m beam ones do the job, or would I be better off to spend more on one that has a 800m beam. The reason I ask is the 800m ones are a lot dearer and including a battery pack, I'd be looking at over €200 anyway.

    Thanks

Light force 170 I use a debhan battery pack its perfect for what I do but you need to keep your battery's right. Lead cells go dead if there not been used enough.

I have the ucaller 170, couldn't fault it. 50 foxes so far this year. I have it 2 years I think. one thing that went wrong with it, i lent it to a lad and he pulled the wire out of the handle. i just opened it up and re soldered the connections. perfect before and since. I think the wildhunter night eye one looks like the same as ucaller night eye?

the ucaller i have isn't variable power though.

I have a ucaller as well and cant fault it for the price.
Brother has a lightforce and it genuinely reaches out about 30 or 40 metres more.
Isn't there a lightforce "lamping kit" for sale in the "Wanted/For Sale section" at the moment ?

    Light force 170 ! I have the 140 and the 240

140 is ideal for a battery pack and the 240 is the business but on a windy night it will leave you are a couple of inches longer,

And there is a noticeable difference between the light force and other brands

I have the Ucaller 170 handheld and had the Lightforce 170 and could never see any difference between the two. All with a dimmer fitted to give better battery life, about 3-4hours with a 7amp/hour lead acid battery.

Now have the ND50 Optimus GREEN variable laser designator that looks to be the business. Have yet to get out with it

The lovley Mrs Liffey forked out gor an ND5 as a Christmas prezzy :):):) wont get a chance to try it out till then, so its going to be a bit of poor quality lamping till then, but I aint complaining.
