Are you missing any bulbs? Indicator maybe, or headlight?

Thanks. Now to figure out which one :)

Heh just had this light myself this morning on a 2005 octavia - after switching around all the lights and walking around my car i couldnt find which bulb it was. Then reversing later in the day I noticed in a reflection one of my reversing bulbs is gone - the one bulb i couldnt really check by myself without a mirror or a big brick on the clutch.

Yeah, blown bulb. It should tell you in the info panel which one it is. Much better than the engine warning light!!

Engage reverse and turn the ignition to the pre firing stage should assist there.

Or just park reversed close to a large window and check the rear lights in the reflection.

Scary enough light to see when you don't know what it is.
I had my car only a day when it came on while cruising on the dual carriageway. Pulled over bricking it and scrabbled through the owners manual till I found it. Maybe next time should read the manual on the first day.

You don't need to have the engine running to check the reverse lights. ;)

Had a 06 Mini Cooper recently and reverse lights would only work with the engine running.

Seriously lads do any of you have any friends??

Quick hint - sit in your car with your door open. Try all your bulbs - sidelights, fogs, brakes, reversing, headlights main and dip - tell your friend which one you are doing each time. He/she can then tell you which ones are/aren't working.

Its times like that I miss my Safrane. When a bulb went the voice systhesiser kicks in and say " warning left rear brake light faulty" :)

Number plate bulbs are always divils for going on the QT, worth a check!

Without the engine running ignition in put in reverse walk round the back of the car. Brake lights aren't so easy to check, use a window in the garage when you get petrol.
