Anyone know of a really strong metal glue, I need to glue the the rear end out of the cylinder from a bolt action M99 back into it. The part that the bolt / cocking handle attaches to ,It came loose as it is press fitted. I have tried other cylinders which are compatable but the part at the back will not fit the cocking lever, I have tried Unibond metal epoxy but it will not take the strain as soon as you go to cock it it fails, Any ideas or products lads let me know

what material are you attempting to bond?

The cylinder is steel I'm sure and the end part might be a cast??

Could you throw up a pic, you might be able to do something else with it if we had visuals.

Bonding epoxy putty is great stuff but depending the level of stress between the two parts it will separate again will only be a temporary fix .

JB weld is the best I've ever used, but as mentioned it all depends on what forces it will experience. Tensile you have no chance, but in shear it will be extremely strong.

As mentioned please include pictures of the parts.

I'll get some pics up tomorrow as the batteries are knackered in the camera, As for the stress, it will only be under stress when cocking / pulling back the bolt on the rifle

    Cheers lads

Honestly, there is nothing like it and it's passed every test I can think of to date :D

Not very familiar with bolt action rifles, but are the parts strong enough to be drilled and tapped?
That way you could bond it and have a bolt in it. It should definately stay together then:)
If you do go down this route, I would thread lock the bolt in place as well.
