ford 5000 hand throttle

    the hand trottle in my ford 5000 cant stay still. for example its very hard to set the revs at 2000rpm. or if you opened it up to the last and left it go the lever could go back to 1700rpm instead of 2500rpm. its a bit annoying at times when wanting a certain revs. any remedies or what could be causing the problem. foot trottle is perfect but its just the hand trottle is very hard to get it to stay.

    try tightening the nut at the end of the shaft behind the surround. should compress a spring and increase the effort to move it.

    just looking at the diagram, there is no spring shown but tightening the nut should still work. I'm pretty sure you can tighten it enough to lock it in position.

    don't know how it might affect the foot throttle though
