The Pav's nice, and it's great it's there, but we don't want to spend the whole night there!

    Any suggestions?

Porterhouse for Irish craft beers at decent prices. Occasionally selective door policy.

Messrs for a more limited range of craft beers, although they're not as good. Always lots of people there.

Gingerman, again limited range of Irish craft-made house beers, but excellent prices.

MacTurcaills for relatively cheap pints - €3.70 or so these days.

O'Neills for lots of beers, none particularly cheap. Full of tourists.

Captain Americas have student prices Mon-Wed, although not in Christmas season.

Define "nice", OP? There's a multitude of pubs around there to cater to all tastes

That's a pretty broad question; you're basically asking whether there are any nice bars in Dublin City centre.

    It hasn't served alcohol in quite a long time, it's a restaurant/canteen.
