Car electrics

    Hi guys,

I was just looking for some advice re:car electrics.

I have a Rover 216 GTi. The dipped lights stopped working recently. I've checked the bulbs and the fuses, but have found no problems. Which really only leaves it down to there being a problem between the switch and the bulbs.

I was wondering if anyone else has had a similar problem? If so, how was it repaired?

Otherwise, can anyone else suggest what the problem might be?

Obviously the car isn't worth very much, so I don't want to give it to a mechanic and be charged twice the value of the car to have the problem fixed.

    Thanks in advance.

The problem might be with relay or switch itself.

I guess relay may be cheap, either new or 2nd hand one.

If you don't have repair manual and don't want to buy one, search for Haynes' book number 1830 somewhere an take a look into it to find where relay is. ;)

A decent auto electrician can fix your problem in 10 mins most likely.
