Fta and a prewired house

I am in a new build house that has pre-wired Tv points in most rooms.

Is there any way I can connect my satellite to one point and then break off to different receivers at the other points by using the existing wiring.

It is not possible to wire from the dish to a couple of rooms, such as one of the bedrooms and I would like to put a tv in there for the grandson who has now become a regular overnighter.

To receive all available channels, a satellite receiver needs to be able to switch between high & low frequency bands, as well as horizontal & vertical polarity.

This can only be done with a direct connection to the lnb on the dish, or with a separate multiswitch at the distribution point. If receivers have to share a common connection, say by splitting a cable from the lnb, or using a loopthrough from 1 receiver to the next, there will be conflicts & not all channels will be available to each.

Up to 8 connections are available direct from an lnb (octo lnb) & this is usually plenty for the average single dwelling. Where is the 'one point' you were thinking of using to 'break off' to other rooms?

Where are they fed from? If its in the attic or somewhere you have the ends of all the cables it's as simple as adding another cable from the lnb on your dish to the attic and using a coupler to join them. You can find out which is your grandsons room either by trial and error or by belling the cables.

If the setup isn't like that and the rooms are all fed from a central location with a tv, it may have been wired with analogue tv in mind. You would have to either identify the cable to your grandsons room and join it to another satellite feed wherever is convenient or else just plug the rf out from your main box into the cable to the room abd add a magic eye for a remote. If you went the rf out and magic eye route, both tvs could only watch the same channel and you'd probably need a second remote for your box

    Thanks,
I have a 4way lnb I was hoping I could wire and connect one to the unused upc box and be able to split off in the bedroom that way. As the place is a duplex I can not easily run cable from the back to the front of the house.

It's alright to join cables, if the cable is suitable for satellite use.

Each tuner needs its own lnb connection, or you could install a multiswitch at a convenient location & run 4 cables from the lnb to the switch. The no. of outputs available then depends on the type of switch.
