    Hi guys

Im just looking for some of yer experiences a few months after getting LASEK eye surgery (im not looking for "yeah its fantastic stories")

I got Lasek done in June of this year to correct -.50 in both eyes. I had previously got Lasik done the previous year.

I went through a terrible time after getting the Lasek done this year.(too much of a long story)

I am at the 4.5 month mark and my vision is still pretty bad. Its still up and down, still have good days and bad days with it. Very blurry and night vision had become a nightmare.

I never experienced Night vision problems after any of the surgeries and yet its after popping up 4 months later.

Im afraid to drive the car at night with the sereve night vision glare, halo's, and firework affects. Not the best when Its dark going and coming home from work!!

I went back to the optician and she said that my vision is 20/20 - which im finding very hard to believe!! If your standing 4 feet away from me I wont be able to distingush your face!!

I went to meet the surgeon who done the lasek last week and he says all my vision problems is down to the dryness of my eyes..

so alas, im back on drops every half an hour and this horrible gel twice a day and FML 4 times a day.

I cant see how this is going to make it any better as I been on drops the whole time..

Im so sick of it now at this stage!!!

Someone please tell me if there is a light at the end of the tunnel!!!!

And that im not the only one in this boat after Lasek

    Thanks in advance

I haven't had the surgery so can't give you what you want but perhaps you might give one or two extra pieces of information.

Did you have any of these issues after the original Lasik procedure?
Why did you have to have another treatment - was it just because of the regression to -.50?
Was it the same clinic that did both procdedures (i.e. Optical Express)?
Did they recommend the retreatment in LASEK rather than LASIK because of the risk of dry eye? Were you already suffering dry symptoms?

Lasek does have a much longer healing time, often up to six months for everything to settle down but I wouldn't have expected problems as bad as these four and half months afterwards.

I experienced no problems at all after the Lasik, woke up the next morning with nothing only amazing vision.
Why did you have to have another treatment - was it just because of the regression to -.50?
Over a year my eyes regressed to -.50, it stayed at that for 3 months and i was advised to get it done again before it got any worse.

Yes both were with the same company

They couldnt re-laser in Lasik because the perscription was so short that lasik may do more damage than good, so they surgeon chose Lasek. I had no choice the second time- it was up to the sergeon. I never ever before suffered from any dryness or anything to do with the eyes

I was aware lasek took longer but this is a joke, im just so fed up of it

From what you've said, I'd seek a second opinion. You need to know as early as possible if they're just stringing you along so that you can take action if you need to.

Personally, from all the research I've done, I wouldn't be inclined to recommend the clinic that performed your surgery. I will PM you some links now that may be of help.
