Last Christmas Lidl I think it was did Franziskaner at €1.50 a bottle and so I stocked up.

I havent seen anything like that yet this year other than the 5 for a tenner deal in tesco which is great for a few at the weekend but not a bulk buy of say 20 bottles or more.

I might just end up getting Franziskaner at the regular €1.79 a bottle (which in fairness is a great price for a quality weis) but would be well annoyed if I got it at that price and then they reduce it to last years price.

Anyone seen it cheaper than €1.79 anywhere yet at all?

    Cheers.

Lidl do Franziskaner on 2 for €2.50, or 4 for €5 every few months.

It may be a case where Franziskaner stops going on big promotions. They are launching it on Draught around the country so if you can get it for €1.50 a bottle in a Supermarket it will hurt a pub trying to sell it for €4.80.

€1.79 is still a good price as a good quality product like Franziskaner goes.

    Is it yourselves distributing it?

Dont get me wrong I'd agree €1.79 is a good price for a quality Weisbeir BUT that doesnt take away from the fact that if I can get it cheaper I'll wait.

I think thats the key here anyway by the sounds of it just give it a couple of weeks and hopefully it does go down in price.

    I'm in no rush.

Would be nice to see it on tap too. Rather it to Erdinger which seems to be the most readily available Weisbeir on tap round the place although Paulaner is also about.

    OP,

Schöfferhofer wheat beer is in Aldi all the time at €1.49 for a half litre bottle.

    Enjoy. :)

I've tried it Zebra3 but unfortunately I found it quite watery and disappointing. Its nowhere near the Franziscaner league in my opinion.

I'd rather spend the €1.79 but as I say I'll wait and see if they drop it in the coming weeks before deciding.

Franziskaner is probably the nicest beer I've had.

I have seen it occassionally on sale 6 for €10

I think my local off license on the North Circular/Belvideire Road sells it 6 for €10. I'll have a look next time I'm walking past.

Nope, coming in from Bulmers C&C so likely being sold by numerous wholesalers. I saw a Tap yesterday of it and it is black, gave me the impression it was a Dunkel till I got up close to it.

I had the flash on, sorry, but its a very nice Black/Gold Counter Mount.
