    Hey there,

I have a place in France and want to be able to pay utility (mostly EDF electricity) bills from by BOI current account. Is this possible? any other options?

    Thanks,

    Atticus.

The easiest way to pay is probably online using your VisaDebit Card. You have to register online to access the client area. If you have any difficulty setting it up you can ring the English speaking helplines, who could also run you through all payment methods. There are eight different helplines depending on which region the property is in. The region & helpline numbers are all HERE - just scroll down to the Contact Us By Phone section.

You should contact EDF or other utilities and ask them if you can pay your bill via SEPA Direct Debit which allows them debit your account in Ireland.

    Hi atticus,

    Thanks for posting.

The utility companies may be able to set up a SEPA Direct Debit from your account. More information on SEPA payments is available here.

Another option would be to add the companies as international payees on 365Online. They would need to provide you with the IBAN and BIC of their holding accounts. As any transfers you send would be within the EU, there would be no additional charge on our side. Information on making international transfers on 365Online, is available here.

As Cushie Butterfield mentioned, you may be able to pay with your Visa Debit card.

    Thanks,
    Tara
