Would anyone know of calligraphy classes running in dublin area in the new year.

I recently bought a calligraphy set but the ink stops flowing from the pen, it's really irritating. I'll do a few letters find and then it just stops. How do I fix this? Is it the way I'm holding the pen?

dip the nib in a small amount of water and do a few downward strokes. This sould restart the flow. HTH

Reposting on this thread. Does anyone know of any calligraphy classes currently running or starting in dublin area now/immediately. I had checked http://www.calligraphy.ie/ and signed up to a classes in booterstown but it will not be running due to poor numbers, so i am looking out for other classes starting immediately.

I found this website but unfortunately the dates/times/location didnt suit Or the lass didnt run due to low numbers. The info is slightly out of date but if you email the names they are v helpful. http://www.calligraphy.ie/classes-meetings/

The other place i found was the national print museum who run one off classes and have a one off calligraphy class in Oct.

I am still looking but hope the class closer to me runs in the autumn.

Thanks so much for getting back to me. I haven't had much luck with calligraphy.ie either but I did find the Print Museum Workshop and have booked on to that. I also found this online course: http://istilllovecalligraphy.com/meta/sign-up which seems to have been recommended on a few calligraphy blogs. Will post back here if I find anything else in Dublin.

I know the evening course in Raheney runs each term but the lady in Booterstown could not get the numbers for Spring term just past. If you contact via phone they should return the message ( well they did when i enquired in Jan).

You tube is also quite good, if you have patience!
