3 Months Notice Identification

We're getting married in April and have an appointment next month to give our 3 months notice. It says on the checklist that an indate passport is required as a photo id, since I don't have one I'm wondering will an Irish driver's license suffice.

I would call them and ask. e.g. To prove citizenship you don't need to have a passport (ppl don't have it unless they travel), however when we made our appointment the Galway registrar said we had to use our passports for ID, end of.
They will probably still take the 3 month notice starting from the date of your appointment, but they'll require you to come back with any outstanding documents before they'll give you the registration form. We had to go back to bring birth certs, but the date of notice was from when we both first went in as they'd started the paperwork on that day.

Definitely ring and ask. We gave our notice a few weeks ago and they wouldn't accept anything other than a passport and when I said mine was out of date (when I was ringing to make the appointment) they said "well, you'd be renewing it anyway". It might depend on who you get, but be prepared to get one. If you go via passport express it should take less than two weeks to get it back.

Thanks for the headsup, I rang the Naas office and was told it has to be a passport.
