I was just charged 20 quid for membership for a website that I haven't used in like 10 months. I didn't know it was a recurring payment when I signed up for it and I don't know why they only started taking recurring payments for it now after more than 10 months. Any way to get it back as I don't plan to make use of the membership at all ?

I'll have a look at the T&C's. It's meant to be every 3 months. I was using a pre-paid card mastercard back then. I recently got a BOI Visa Debit card and added that to my PayPal account. I regret that now as they charged me using that card :(

So PayPal claim is a no go ? Is it even possible to do chargeback with a Visa Debit ? I know it's only 20 quid but I won't be using the website at all.

Yeah I cancelled as soon as I found out about it. I've contaced the website and asked them to cancel my membership and refund me. Not expecting anything but there's no harm in trying I suppose.

Could have used the 20 quid to top up the phone, aaargh :(

Update on this, the website wouldn't refund me so I went ahead and opened a PayPal claim anyway despite knowing that it will most likely go against me. Escalated it to a claim immediately, 12 days later the seller didn't bother to respond and so PayPal decides in my favor. Will be getting my 20 quid back, result :D
